James W. Sanders is a psychologist, cognitive neuroscientist, and phenomenologist, studying the scientific description and measurement of the psychedelic experience at the Centre for Psychedelic Research, Imperial College London. Through his research he has spent over one hundred hours interviewing as many participants about their acute experiences of DMT, extended state DMT, 5-MeO-DMT, and other psychedelics.

James offers tutoring and consultation on the micro-phenomenological interview and analysis methods, as well as assisting Dr. Claire Petitmengin in offering certified micro-phenomenology trainings. He has independently taught phenomenological interview methods to researchers at Imperial College London as well as postgraduate students in the ‘Psychedelics: Mind, Medicine, and Culture’ program at the University of Exeter.
